Ace director and the maker of world class film Baahubali went on to win the CNN IBN “Indian of the Year” for 2015. Nominees and the results were declared under the Entertainment category yesterday.
CNN News 18 held the 10th edition of “Indian of the year”. The grand ceremony was graced by important dignitaries representing politics, entertainment, sports and business. Union Minister Arun Jaitley, actress Deepika Padukone, Kangana Ranaut, actor Ranveer Singh, athletes Sania Mirza and Mahesh Bhoopathi were among some of the celebs who were present during the occasion.
S S Rajamouli showed the world that there are no boundaries for a creative mind that things beyond the line. His magnum offing Baahubali has not only set standards for the Indian film industry, but had also made a statement to the Hollywood and the world. The entire globe had watched the film, speaking of international visual extravaganza and story line. Rajamouli was often lauded for his breakthrough plots and characters, not to forget the directorial brilliance that belongs entirely to him alone.
The CNN Ibn “Indian of the Year” award is honoured to Indians who make remarkable contribution in the field of Industry, Entertainment, Sports and Public Service.
The highlight was when the award was given away to the People of Chennai as Indians of the Year. Their contribution towards rescue and flood relief last year was largely appreciated. Actress Kangana Ranaut and Athlete Sania Mirza wanled away with the title for their contribution in the respective fields.
