As to what constituted like a pleasant achievement for Telugu Film Industry, Tollywood film Manam starring the prime of the Akkineni family, bagged five Filmfare Awards that were announced on Friday.
Manam bagged awards for the categories best film, best director (Vikram Kumar), best music (Anup Rubens), best cinematographer (P S Vinod) and best lyricist (Chandrabose).
The film was Akkineni home production, Annapurna Studios, starring the great legend, late Akkineni Nageswara Rao for the last time on the silver screen. The scion passed away during the last leg of film shooting. Manam garnered warm reception showcasing the true blue family sentiments that were enacted by the real three generations of the Akkineni household.
Manam had a great story line, which depicted values of love regardless of time and generations. The motherly bonding between Akkineni Nagarjuna and Samantha Ruth Prabhu(his mother in the previous life) was well portrayed. The pleasant introduction of handsome Akhil Akkineni at the climax of the film simply wowed the audience, hinting the soon to be arriving heart throb in the Telugu Film Industry.
To celebrate the success of the movie at awards night, Akkineni Nagarjuna hosted a private party for his friends belonging to the film industry after the concluding of awards function.
