In an announcement made by Suresh Prabhu, the Union Railway Minister, he confirmed that an amount of INR 2680 crores has been sanctioned by the Central Government for the construction of a new railway line in Andhra Pradesh’s new capital city of Amaravati.
The announcement was made during the meeting of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas” which was organized by Tenali’s BJP on 15th June. While addressing the gathering, he said that during the past three years, no corruption cases have been cited in the ruling party of BJP. He added that the party is putting in serious efforts for the development of the country and is also working towards to welfare of all the sections of the society.
According to him, post the bifurcation, BJP has been trying to offer maximum support to AP, in order to facilitate its development in every way possible. He added that developing a new railway line in Amaravati was extremely important and assured that the Central Government would offer complete support to the state in the construction of the new railway line that would connect Guntur and Vijayawada.
Mr. Prabhu said that plans are on for developing 400 more railway stations in the country and the proposals for these are under way. He added that the railway ministry would ensure application of more reforms to improve the services offered to the general public.
Galla Jayadev, the MP from Guntur said that in the face of development of the new capital city, it is extremely important to develop the railways in the district of Guntur. He went on to request Suresh Prabhu to begin the construction of railway stations in Guntur. K. Srinivas, the State Minister for Medical and Health commended the BJP government for having completed three years of their rule without facing any crises in administration. He said that the schemes of the government should actually be campaigned in order to improve the awareness of the masses.
Among the other important dignitaries who were present during the meeting were Narasapuram and Vizag MPs, G Gangaraju and K Haribabu respectively along with N Ananda Babu, the Social Welfare Minister of Andhra Pradesh
