An announcement was made by the Mayor of Rajahmundry, P Rajani Sesha Sai declaring the opening of Anna Canteens across the city. While addressing the gathering on the fourth day of the Nava Nirmana Deeksha Program on 5th June, the Mayor applauded the efforts of the state government to provide food to the poor at low costs. She added that the AP government was also putting in efforts to provide good quality education and health facilities to the people of the state and encouraged the citizens to make use of these facilities for their benefits.
She further stated that the government was encouraging the use of solar power in the state and has also set up RO plants across AP to offer potable drinking water to the people at a rate of INR 2 for a 20 liter can.
According to Ganni Krishna, the Chairman of Godavari Urban Development Authority, in spite of the various problems faced by the government including financial constraints, it is making all efforts to keep the promises it made with the citizens at the time of the elections. He added that the government was all set to implement the initiative of offering financial aid to the unemployed youth of the state. He stressed on the fact that people should make use of the 1100 call center in case they find any discrepancy on part of the government officials to curb the initiatives of the government.
