Emulating the best of corporate look, the new smart police station is also equipped with a ‘custody room’ and complete supervision under CCTV network. Located at Nagarampalem in Guntur, this model police station is destined to become an example of sorts for the rest in the country.
One comes across plush interiors and modern furnishing while walking into the police station. The best part is the exterior that has been gorgeously landscaped along with a glass facade.
The police station has a staff room, a dormitory, mini control room, reception chamber and individual rooms for station house officer and three sub inspectors.
The color of the uniform is also different. Getting rid of the typical Khakis, male cops will wear navy blue trouser and light blue shirt while female cops will wear light blue sari as a uniform. The lady receptionist will be a stand out too, with a striking navy blue blazer.
Built in a span of two months with a budget of Rs 91 Lakh, the smart police station in Guntur is a pilot project. Plans are ion to build 100 such smart police stations across the state.
