Dell EMC & AP Govt Team Up For Cloud Solutions in HealthCare

Cloud and data analytics are definitely the way forward in technology empowering human lives. DELL EMC has collaborated with AP Government to come up with some of the niche solutions in healthcare using cloud and data analytics.

DELL is commencing its second engagement with Andhra Pradesh. CM had inaugurated Mahila Master Health Checkup (MMHC), a health care program for the women of Andhra Pradesh, on 20th September 2016. This MMHC program will be used to screen women above the age of 35 for NCD (Non Communicable Diseases). Going by the reports of World Health Organization, non communicable diseases account for nearly 60% of mortality rate in the country.

Cardio vascular diseases, cancer, diabetes and respiratory diseases are now surpassing the other list of serious infectious diseases. This is thanks to the rapidly progressing unhealthy lifestyle choices. Women are the prime subjects who are vulnerable to these diseases more.

As of now, MMHC is being launched in more than 7000 health sub centers and will be used by 12000 health workers to screen approximately 9 million women in the next 6 months.

Dell EMC will be an agile technology partner providing necessary software solutions for MMHC. This comprises of tablet application for the health workers, web applications for the secondary level and tertiary level doctors, and dashboards for the health officials. NIC cloud infrastructure is being used to run the software solutions and manage all the data for health department.

Sarv Saravanan, Senior Vice President, Dell EMC spoke to the media and expressed that it was heartening to see AP Govt launch comprehensive women’s health programs in a progressive manner.

There is a unique manner in which the entire system operates. The program is designed in a way suspicious cases of probable NCDs are referred up by health workers to designated hospitals for secondary screening. Small portion of those are referred up further to select hospitals for tertiary screening. The doctors will then confirm the diagnosis using advanced techniques where relevant and start the treatment.
