Day 5, Five Meetings – Finance. Energy. Aviation. R&D

Day 5 at Davos saw the CM interacting with both national and international investors in seven different meetings. The day that began with discussing improved air connectivity for Amaravati with a national air carrier ended with proposal to global pharma giant for bringing their R&D facility to Vizag. Here are the details from AP CMO

Meeting 1 – With Spicejet

The Chief Minister met Mr. Ajay Singh, Chairman, Spicejet. They discussed on increasing air connectivity in both domestic and international fronts with Amaravati. Chief Minister said he wants Amaravati to be a hub for cargo and maintenance activities.

Meeting 2 – With JBIC

Tadashi Meda, representative from Japan Bank for International Cooperation met the Chief Minister. JBIC has shown interest in equity participation in Amaravati Development Corporation. Teams from JBIC and Government of Andhra Pradesh will conduct follow up meetings to take the proposal forward.

Meeting 3 – With Suzlon Energy

During his meeting with the Chief Minister, Tulasi Tanti, Founder Suzlon Energy said he will come to CII partnership summit in Vishakhapatnam on 27th and 28th of this month to demonstrate the progress in solar power in AP. Suzlon is involved in solar power production in AP.

Meeting 4 – With Canadian Minister

Navdeep singh Bains, Minister Innovation, Science and Economic Development, Canada met Chief Minister. He told the CM that Canada will be interested in involving in smart cities projects in AP. He extended an invitation to the CM to visit Canada.

Meeting 5 – Mitsui

CM explained to the representatives from Mitsui Global the investment opportunities in AP. CM invited them to establish their India head quarters in Amaravati.

Meeting 6 – With Novartis

Dr Andrei, President Novartis met the CM. Chief Minister requested Novartis to start Research and Development facility in Vishakhapatnam Pharma city. In reply he said they will consider during the expansion plans of Novartis.

Meeting 7 – UK Hospital

United Kingdom based International Hospital Group met the CM. They proposed a 500 bed hospital in AP fully funded by them. CM asked them to come to AP to interact with the concerned officials in the government.
