The impending US trip for Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister which begins on May 4th is packed to the hilt with a number of agendas. Other than signing MoUs with various international firms, he is also scheduled to meet with 300 CEOs including Tim Cook during the visit.
The details of his schedule were revealed by Parakala Prabhakar, the Communication advisor during a press conference held on Saturday, April 29th. He added that a three sister state agreement will be signed with the US states of California, Illinois and Iowa. He said that the CM will sign a MoU with the University of Iowa, which is famous for its advanced agricultural research. He further revealed that similar MoUs will be signed with California and Illinois, which are known for their information technology and advanced financial services respectively. These MoUs will prove to be beneficial for Andhra Pradesh and will help it in adopting the latest technologies. AP will also sign a MoU with California on “Global Climate Leadership”.
Parakala revealed that the Chief Minister will be meeting the global leaders in the sectors of defense and aerospace. Between the dates of May 4th and May 8th, field visits have been scheduled to Apple, Google, Oracle, Tesla, Cisco etc. He said that Chandrababu Naidu will be meeting Mike McNamana, the Flextronics CEO and Safra Catz, the Oracle CEO. He added that an important meeting has been scheduled for May 8th where the CM and his delegation will be attending a dinner that will be hosted by John Chambers, the Cisco CEO. It is believed that higher officials from important firms will be participating in this event. Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, Sheryl Sandberg, the COO of Facebook, Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google and Larry Ellison, the cofounder of Oracle are a few important dignitaries who will make an appearance at this important meeting.
The interactions between the CM and most of the CEOs and COOs will be scheduled as group meetings or bilateral meetings. The delegation will go on to meet the representatives of the University of Dallas, Stanford University and other important varsities on May 9th. The CM will also be attending the USIBC’s West Coast Summit 2017 and TiEcon 2017 Summit during this tour. He will be conferred with the Transformative Chief Minister Award at the USIBC’s summit. N Chandrababu Naidu will leave for USA on May 3rd with his son Nara Lokesh who is also the IT Minister, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, the Finance Minister and 14 IAS and IPS officers.
