CM Aims for Employment Boom in the Next Two Years

Andhra Pradesh CM, N Chandrababu Naidu is quite confident of the fact that in the next couple of years, job opportunities for 6.17 lakh people will be created in the state. This surely seems to be a possibility what with investments of INR 275000 crores having been made by various national and international firms in the state. On 22nd June, while attending the function of laying of the foundation stone for Celkon, he announced that plans are on to develop the temple town of Tirupati into a hardware hub.

He praised the skills of the labor force, especially the female workers who according to him have metamorphosed into excellent workers after the training that was offered to them by Celkon. He added that he had interacted with these ladies prior to the meeting and was amazed by the high level of confidence that they displayed in taking up any work and ensuring its completion. He said that the lifestyle of these women has also changed thanks to the confidence and the added skills.

According to him, after the bifurcation when the unit of Foxconn was established in Sri City, close to 12000 jobs were created.

During the occasion he also made an appeal to the investors that they should try and use the industrial corridor that has been proposed in the cities of Tirupati and Krishnapatnam. He went on to assure that the rivers Krishna, Penna and Godavari would be interlinked and the pending work of the various projects like Malle Madugu, Somasila, Balaji Reservoir and Telugu Ganga would soon be completed. He also promised that Chitoor district would be made drought free this year as efforts are being made for the completion of the Handri Neeva Canal.

While addressing the gathering, Nara Lokesh, the Minister of IT said that during the next 2 years, about 1 lakh jobs will be created in Renigunta. He added that he was aiming at laying the foundation stone of at least one company every month such that more job opportunities would be created.

N Amarnath Reddy, the Industries Minister said that he was confident about creation of 25000 jobs in Chittoor district that would be majorly targeted on women. He added that his department has been offering clearances for the various industries with a 15 day window, although the time limit given by the government is 21 days.
