On 29th May, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu visited the Aganampudi pylon which was constructed post his completion of the Mee Kosam Padayatra prior to the General Elections of 2014. He also honored the statue of NTR which has been set quite close to this pylon.
During the event, the CM addressed the gathering and promised that measures will be taken to convert Vishakhapatnam into the Number 1 district of the state. The 2800 km padayatra which was carried out by him in undivided Andhra Pradesh had lasted 208 days and had concluded on 27th April, 2013 in Vizag. He had gone on to inaugurate the Aganampudi pylon that is situated near the toll gate. While recollecting the padayatra he said that it was a really memorable event for him and he had completed the yatra in spite of the warnings and requests of his doctors and all the pain that he had to bear. He added that during the time his aim to serve the people is what gave him the strength and perseverance to complete the feat.
He said that this Yatra was an eye opener for him as he got to know of the various hardships faced by people who go on padayatras.
During the visit, Chandrababu Naidu also offered financial help to the family of M Sankara Rao, a party cadre and handed over a check of INR 1.48 lakhs which came from the CM’s relief fund.
