Foundation stone has been laid for Shilparamam, that is soon to come up in Vizianagaram. The village for crafts, art and heritage will now open a large base in Andhra Pradesh.
Union Minister for Civil Aviation Ashok Gajapathi Raju had officially laid the foundation stone for the cultural village that will come up in 41 acres at Vyasanarayanametta.
Establishment of Shilparamam in Andhra would open doors for newer preservation of arts and crafts, enabling local and national artisans market their products. Shilparamam is also well known for its colorful theme based cultural shows.
AP government had released Rs. 1 crore for the first phase for execution of initial works such as compound wall, parking places, ticket counters, shops, stage etc. Construction of exclusives such as arts gallery, rural museum and recreation facilities for children will begin in phase two.
