The Department of Health, Medical and Family Welfare signed a MoU on 20th June with Cerner, a USA based firm. According to sources, Cerner has been roped in to offer Health Information Exchange Services (HIES) to the state. The firm will collect the data from the various health programs implemented in the state, analyze and then recommend policies.
The state CM, N Chandrababu Naidu was present at the time of the signing of the MoU. On the occasion he said that his vision was that the health sector should be digitalized such that every citizen of Andhra Pradesh should be able to access his or her health information using the digital platforms. In order to coordinate all the processes, a Knowledge Command Center will be created. This MoU has a validity period of 3 years.
