Andhra Pradesh now tops the game. The new state which was bifurcated in 2014 stood number 2 in ease of doing business last year, right after Gujarat. And now, AP is raring to go, becoming the number 1 in the ease of doing business in 2016.
The interesting part about the rankings this year is that Telangana stands number 2, right next to Andhra Pradesh. The different between the two states in topping the slots is 99.09. Sources say that AP has gained advantage due to its implementation policy. The result had indeed come as a surprise to the rest of the states in the country, which now ask for in detailed specs. The states now want to know as to what basis the decision has been arrived at. The prime reason for this is that states that are supposed to be overtaking with industrial activity have now slumped to lower positions. Gujarat which was number one last year, now suddenly stands at number 3. Likewise Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu now stand at ranks 10. 13 and 18 respectively.
Andhra Pradesh has truly surpassed expectations this time, improvising on strategies, enhancing relationship with investors by way of extensive summits and forums. The state government has worked round the clock to showcase the state as a prospective zone for industrial investments. Both national and international players are now eyeing on AP to establish their next base. This proves that Andhra is ready to take the play to the next level, with increased economic activity and diverse overseas investments.
