A 100 MW solar power plant to be set up in Andhra Pradesh has been commissioned by Azure Power. According to the organization, the project was auctioned by NTPC, the power producer that is controlled and managed by the state government. With a 100 MW capacity, this solar power plant will find its home in Kurnool Ultra Mega Solar Park. Andhra Pradesh Solar Power Corporation Limited (APSPCL) and Solar Park Implementation Agency (SPIA) have joined hands to set up this park.
According to the agreement made, NTPC will receive power supply from Azure Power at the rate of INR 5.12/KWh for the next 25 years. The project that would span across a space of 500 acres is being set up with an aim to provide powers to the areas around it.
The Founder and CEO of Azure Power, Inderpreet Wadhwa said that they were really delighted to be a part of this project as this would help them make a contribution to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative of developing India into one that operates on green energy.
Operating across 18 states and with a portfolio of 1000MW, Azure Power is India’s major solar power producer.
